Magento Development – How to Install Magento Using Downloader

Magento development today a big industry was introduced to the world by Varien in March 2008 and takes lot of components from Zend Framework. To use Magento successfully for Magento development it is important to first install it using Apache Web Server (1.x or 2.x), Linux, Windows, or another UNIX-compatible operating system as well as PHP 5.2.0 or newer with simplexml, MySQLi, mcrypt, PDO/MySQL, DOM and mhash extensions. It will also need Sendmail-compatible Mail Transfer Agent (MTA) and MySQL 4.1.20 or newer.

As a Magento developer starts the installation process Magento will set cookies which in most of the cases are refused by localhost. This definitely creates problem for Magento development but no errors are shown. In order to avert such errors a Magento developer should use 127.0.0.1 set up as it allows the localhost access to any alien hostname. PHP memory is not all that sufficient for Magento to display high resolution images. However if you wish to do so then set the memory_limit=32M in php.ini
